Michigan, or The Great Lake State, was incorporated into the Union on January 26, 1837 as the 26th state. Now in 2025, with a population of 10.1 million, Michigan is the 10th most populous state in the U.S. Surrounded by 4 of the 5 Great Lakes, hence it's nickname Michigan offers a beautiful landscape, and unlimited potential for outdoor activities. With over 1,000 inland lakes, 154 species of fish, roughly 20 million acres of forested land (thats over 55% of Michigans total area!), the possibilities for fun are endless.
